Visiting Oxford – Keep Up Your Fitness
I personally love to exercise even when I am away from my normal routine. I thought it might be a good idea to inform guests who visit our guest house in Oxford of all the fabulous means of exercising and staying fit even when they are away from home.
Walking/Running: If you are an avid walker or a runner, hey presto we have the Oxford canal which is only 7 minutes to walk from our guest house. It is then a further 30 minutes into Oxford City Centre. This is a tranquil and beautiful route alongside a beautiful nature reserve area. Also 7 minutes to walk in the opposite direction is the Port Meadow which is a large meadow of open common land beside the River Thames. Here you will find the Burgess field nature park which is a mix of rough open grassland.
Swimming/Gym: Ferry Leisure Centre or "North Oxford Association" located in Summertown is 7 minutes to walk from our guest house in Oxford. Ferry Leisure Centre and the North Oxford Association share a building hence why I have mentioned them together. At the Ferry Leisure Centre you will find fantastic facilities on offer to help you stay fit and active - including swimming, excellent gym & fitness equipment, indoor courts, squash, basketball, café and an extensive programme of group exercise classes including yoga, pilates and HIIT.The classes, the pool and the gym can be booked in advance without need for any membership. Call the Ferry Leisure Centre on 01865 467060 or book online before your arrival.
Marlborough House Hotel is ideally located to find your favourite choice of fitness. I hope you find the above information helpful and wish you a healthy stay when you visit us in Oxford.
