Visiting Oxford with Young Children

The city of Oxford with its dreaming spires attracts circa 9 million tourists every year. Although many are drawn to Oxford for its undisputed history and academic prowess, there are a fair amount of domestic and foreign tourists who travel with young children. The itinerary of parents with young children cannot be focused on historic university buildings alone.

When visiting Oxford with young children it is imperative to choose your accommodation in Oxford carefully. Being close to the City Centre is not the only criteria. Whether you choose a hotel, guest house or bed & breakfast, what is most important is to ask your accommodation provider if they welcome children.

The Marlborough House Hotel in Oxfordis a child friendly guest house. The kitchenette in all the bedrooms, complete with a refrigerator & microwave make meal-times a breeze. The bus stop opposite the guest house allows parents easy access to City Centre.  A Beautifully equipped park 5 minutes away from our guest house means parents can take the very young children for a run around when the need arises.

Away from the accommodation there is much to do and see in Oxford and around the neighbouring areas.  Here are 10 things for children to enjoy whilst staying at our guest house in Oxford.

Some of the activities listed above can easily be fitted into a sight-seeing day.  It is simply a matter of finding the balance between enjoying the rich history that Oxford has to offer and ensuring that little people are kept motivated and happy.

We look forward to welcoming you to our guest house in Oxford.
